Hiring Tile Installation Technician/Supervisor for Real Estate Company - Ghana Location

Job Description:

Objective:
The Tile Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of workers engaged in the installation of tiles (ceramic, vitrified, granite, marble, etc.) on floors, walls, and other surfaces to ensure quality, safety, and timely completion of the work.

Key Responsibilities:
Supervision and Execution

• Supervise tile laying teams and ensure proper work allocation.
• Verify surface preparation prior to tile installation (leveling, curing, cleanliness).
• Ensure correct use of adhesives, spacers, grout, and levelling systems.
• Monitor tile alignment, spacing, and finishing as per drawing/specification.
• Maintain proper joint alignment and coordinate expansion joints as per plans.

Quality Control

• Inspect materials delivered (tiles, grout, adhesives) for quality and quantity.
• Ensure tiles are laid without lippage or cracking.
• Conduct regular checks to avoid hollow sound and poor adhesion.
• Report any defects, damage, or variations from approved samples.

Coordination

• Liaise with storekeepers for material requirements and timely delivery.
• Coordinate with site engineer and other trade supervisors (plumbing, electrical) for sequencing.
• Communicate issues and suggest resolutions to site management.

Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain daily work progress records.
• Prepare and submit manpower and material consumption reports.
• Record and report site measurements, mock-ups, and approvals.

Safety Compliance

• Ensure all workers follow PPE and safety protocols.
• Identify and mitigate any hazards during tile cutting or handling.

Skills and Competencies Required

• Strong knowledge of tile installation procedures and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings.
• Knowledge of levelling tools, laser levels, cutting machines.
• Eye for detail and quality finishing.
• Leadership and team management skills.

• Timely completion of assigned tiling areas as per schedule.
• High-quality tile finishes with minimal rework.
• Zero safety violations or major defects.
