Job Summary: The Sales Engineer will play a crucial role in driving sales and revenue growth by combining technical knowledge with strong sales skills. This individual will be responsible for understanding customer requirements, providing technical solutions, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective sales and support.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales and Business Development:
o Identify and develop new business opportunities to achieve sales targets and expand the customer base.
o Conduct market research to identify potential customers and market trends.
o Prepare and deliver technical presentations and demonstrations to customers.
o Negotiate contracts and close sales agreements.
2. Customer Relationship Management:
o Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
o Understand customer needs and provide solutions to meet their requirements.
o Provide technical support and product training to customers.
o Ensure customer satisfaction and handle any complaints or issues promptly.
3. Technical Expertise:
o Develop a deep understanding of the company's products and services.
o Assist customers in selecting the appropriate products and solutions for their needs.
o Collaborate with the engineering team to address technical queries and challenges.
o Keep up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and competitive products.
4. Sales Administration:
o Prepare and submit sales reports, forecasts, and other documentation as required.
o Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and transactions in the CRM system.
o Coordinate with other departments, such as marketing, production, and logistics, to ensure smooth order processing and delivery.
5. Training and Development:
o Stay informed about new product developments and updates.
o Share knowledge and best practices with colleagues to improve team performance.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) or equivalent technical background.
Experience: 2-3 years of experience in technical sales, preferably in the [Engineering industry/sector].
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of technical products and solutions. Ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings.
Sales Skills: Proven track record in sales and business development. Excellent negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical customers.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship-building and customer service skills. Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
Problem-Solving: Analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to address customer concerns and find effective solutions.
Travel: Willingness to travel to meet with customers and attend industry events as required.
