Job Description:
A rigger sets up, repairs, and operates rigging equipment like cranes and hoists to move heavy materials and equipment, ensuring safety through precise load assessment, secure attachment, and clear communication with the team. Key responsibilities include preparing rigging, inspecting equipment for stability and condition, coordinating with others, and maintaining the work area for safe operation.
Key Responsibilities

Rigging Setup & Repair:Assembling and disassembling rigging for various lifting and moving tasks.

Equipment Inspection & Maintenance:Regularly checking rigging equipment, such as ropes, cables, pulleys, and hoists, to ensure they are in good working order.

Load Assessment:Evaluating the weight, size, and stability of loads to determine the appropriate rigging gear and a safe movement plan.

Safety Compliance:Adhering to safety procedures, company policies, and state laws to prevent accidents.

Communication:Using clear hand or radio signals to communicate with crane operators and other team members during lifting operations.

Load Movement:Directing the safe and precise movement of loads from one location to another.

Work Area Management:Keeping the work area clear of obstructions to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Equipment Storage:Cleaning, dismantling, and properly storing rigging equipment after use.
