Job Description:

An E&I (Electrical and Instrumentation) technician's job involves installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and instrumentation equipment in industrial settings. Key responsibilities include performing scheduled and corrective maintenance, calibrating sensors and transmitters, and resolving issues with electrical and control systems like PLCs and DCSs. They ensure the optimal reliability and uptime of plant equipment through both preventative and corrective actions.Core responsibilities

Maintenance and repair:Performing both preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, instrumentation, and control equipment. This includes inspecting, calibrating, and repairing or replacing worn parts.

Troubleshooting:Diagnosing and fixing problems with complex electrical and instrumentation systems, such as PLCs, DCSs, and sensors.

Installation:Installing new electrical equipment, wiring, conduits, and instruments.

Calibration:Testing, setting, and calibrating transmitters, sensors, and safety systems to ensure accuracy.

System modification:Making modifications to existing systems and ensuring updated documentation, such as schematics and drawings.

Documentation:Completing work orders, maintenance logs, and other required documentation.

Required skills and qualifications
- Proficiency with tools and calibration instruments.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with various electrical and control systems (e.g., PLCs, AC/DC drives, DCS) is often required.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
