Job Description:
A marketing person for the trading industry is responsible for developing and executing strategies to promote products to distributors and retailers, rather than the end consumer. Key responsibilities include creating and implementing trade marketing campaigns, managing budgets, analyzing sales data and market trends, and collaborating with sales teams to increase product visibility and sales volume at the trade level. This role requires a blend of analytical, strategic, and communication skills, as well as an understanding of the retail and distribution environment. 
 
Key responsibilities
  • Strategy and planning: Develop and execute trade marketing strategies, promotional plans, and channel-specific initiatives.
  • Campaign execution: Coordinate and implement trade marketing campaigns, promotions, and in-store activities to drive demand at the retail level.
  • Sales and marketing collaboration: Act as a link between sales and marketing teams, providing support to sales teams and ensuring brand consistency across all trade channels.
  • Budget management: Manage trade marketing budgets and allocate resources effectively to ensure campaigns stay within budget while delivering desired outcomes.
  • Analysis and reporting: Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and sales data to identify opportunities and measure the performance of marketing campaigns.
  • Retailer engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key trade partners, distributors, and retailers.
  • Cross-functional coordination: Collaborate with various internal teams, such as product, supply chain, and brand management.
  • Point-of-sale (POS) materials: Manage the creation and distribution of promotional and POS materials. 
 
Necessary skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with sales teams and trade partners
  • Strategic thinking to develop effective marketing plans
