About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced U.S. Tax Reviewer / Senior Tax Professional with strong technical expertise in federal and state tax compliance for individuals and businesses. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience performing signing-level or partner-level reviews, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed and signing-level reviews of U.S. tax returns including:
Individual (Form 1040)
S-Corporation (Form 1120S)
Partnership (Form 1065) - C-Corporation (Consolidated and Stand-alone 1120)
- Identify and document technical tax issues and ensure proper treatment under U.S. tax laws.
- Review trial balances and identify potential adjustments (e.g., depreciation, accounting method changes, accrual adjustments).
- Provide constructive feedback and guidance to preparers and internal staff during the review process.
- Ensure timely turnaround of reviews within established budgets and quality benchmarks.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of review procedures and considerations for audit readiness.
- Collaborate effectively within the firm’s workflow structure, coordinating with U.S. team members and managers.
- Support process improvement initiatives to enhance team efficiency and accuracy.
- Communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders, demonstrating professionalism and accountability.
- Stay current with evolving federal and state tax regulations and ensure compliance in all reviewed engagements.
- Maintain a strong sense of ethical conduct, integrity, and responsibility in all professional activities.
Required Technical Expertise:
- 7–12 years of relevant experience in U.S. tax preparation and review.
- Proven experience performing top-side or partner-level reviews (not just preparation or first review).
Strong working knowledge of:
- CCH Access (Mandatory)
- Full Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
- Ability to perform complex trial balance analysis and identify tax-sensitive adjustments independently.
- Comprehensive understanding of U.S. tax laws, GAAP principles, and IRS regulations.
- Strong documentation and analytical skills with focus on accuracy and compliance.
