Shift Engineer - ETP
Job Description:
Job Purpose:
To ensure the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) in compliance with environmental regulations and company sustainability standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Operate and monitor the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) and related wastewater treatment systems during the assigned shift.

Analyze influent and effluent samples for key parameters (pH, COD, BOD, TSS, TDS, etc.) and maintain proper records.

Ensure treated water quality meets PCB norms and company environmental standards.

Perform chemical dosing and maintain optimum levels for efficient treatment.

Handle sludge management, filtration units, and reverse osmosis systems (if applicable).

Maintain logbooks, operation records, and shift reports accurately.

Coordinate with the Maintenance team for timely repair and upkeep of ETP equipment (pumps, blowers, clarifiers, aeration tanks, etc.).

Monitor chemical consumption and assist in inventory management.

Support audits, inspections, and reporting to environmental authorities (PCB).

Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality norms.
Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of ETP process operations and wastewater treatment techniques.

Familiarity with analytical testing for water and effluent parameters.

Hands-on experience with ETP instrumentation and chemical handling.

Good documentation and reporting skills.

Awareness of environmental and pollution control norms.

Teamwork, attention to detail, and safety-oriented mindset.
