Job Description: Unit Head – 25MLD Captive Effluent Treatment Plant
Location: Baddi,HimachalPradesh
Department: Operations&Maintenance
Reporting To: CEO

Job Overview:
The Unit Head will be responsible for overseeing the overall operations, maintenance, and
compliance of the 25MLD Captive Effluent Treatment Plant. The role requires strategic
planning, team management, and ensuring adherence to environmental and regulatory
standards while optimizing plant performance and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plant Operations & Maintenance:
Ensure smooth operation of the 25MLD Effluent Treatment Plant, maintaining
optimum efficiency.
Develop and implement SOPs for plant processes, maintenance, and safety
protocols.
Monitor key performance parameters such as effluent quality, treatment efficiency,
energy consumption, and cost optimization.
Lead troubleshooting and corrective actions to minimize downtime and maintain
operational excellence.
2. Regulatory Compliance & Environmental Standards:
Ensure full compliance with environmental regulations and pollution control board
guidelines.
Liaise with regulatory authorities, prepare and submit required reports, and obtain
necessary permits.
Implement best practices for waste minimization, resource recovery, and
environmental sustainability.
3. Team Leadership & Workforce Management:
Lead a team of engineers, operators, and technicians, ensuring high levels of
motivation and productivity.
Conduct training programs to enhance technical skills and regulatory awareness.
Foster a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with all workplace health and
safety standards.
4. Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for efficiency improvement in treatment processes.
Implement automation and digital monitoring tools where applicable.
Drive initiatives to reduce operational costs and enhance plant performance.
5. Budgeting & Cost Control:
Prepare annual budgets for plant operations and ensure cost-effective utilization of
resources.
Monitor operational expenses and implement cost-saving measures.
Work closely with procurement for spare parts and consumables management.
6. Stakeholder Management:
Coordinate with internal departments such as procurement, finance, and
compliance.
Engage with external stakeholders including clients, government bodies, and
vendors.
Prepare reports and presentations for senior management review.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or
related field.
15+ years of experience in effluent treatment plant operations, with at least 5 years
in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and environmental laws related to
effluent treatment.
Experience in handling large-scale industrial effluent treatment systems.
Proficiency in plant automation, SCADA systems, and digital monitoring tools.
Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) systems and advanced wastewater
treatment technologies.
Experience in managing CAPEX/OPEX budgets for industrial utilities.
Strong analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
