Sr. Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Job Description:

Roles and Responsibilities :

1. Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance strategies for plant electrical systems.
2. Lead annual shutdown planning and execution.
3. Ensure minimum equipment downtime through reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) practices.
4. Lead and mentor a team of engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
5. Plan manpower deployment and upskilling programs for the electrical maintenance team.
6. Ensure uninterrupted operation of HT/LT systems, transformers, VFDs, motors, generators, MCC panels, lighting systems, and earthing systems.
7. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions for repetitive failures.
8. Ensure adherence to statutory electrical safety norms as per Indian Electricity Rules, IEC/IS/NFPA standards.
9. Conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, and electrical audits (internal and external).
10. Ensure compliance with ISO, GPCB, and other regulatory requirements.
11. Monitor power consumption, implement energy-saving initiatives, and improve power factor.
12. Coordinate with the utility team for effective use of DG sets, UPS systems, and renewable sources.
13. Evaluate and manage AMC vendors, service contractors, and material suppliers.
14. Optimize spare parts inventory and maintenance budgets.
15. Maintain equipment history, breakdown records, checklists, and compliance reports.
16. Generate KPIs like MTBF, MTTR, Energy Utilization Index, and present monthly reports to leadership.
