Quality Inspector
Job Description:
Position Summary: The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing inspections at various stages of production to ensure that products meet quality, safety, and customer requirements. This role involves conducting incoming, in-process, and final inspections, maintaining calibration and inspection records, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inspection Activities
Conduct incoming inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections prior to NDE and product release.
Verify conformance of materials and products to drawings, specifications, and standards.
Report any product defects or nonconformances to the QA/QC department and relevant personnel promptly.
Assist in First Article Inspections and product qualification processes when required.
2. Documentation and Record Management
Maintain inspection records, reports, and related quality documents in a well-organized and traceable manner.
Update inspection registers and ensure data accuracy.
Prepare Certificates of Conformance (COC) for inspected products.
3. Calibration and Equipment Control
Perform in-house calibration of Monitoring and Measuring Equipment (MME) and maintain calibration reports and records.
Ensure that all MME, including ring gauges and API gauges, are properly handled, preserved, and stored.
Update and maintain calibration history records and ring gauge calibration documentation.
4. Communication and Support
Ensure timely communication of inspection results, defects, and complaints to appropriate personnel.
Support continuous improvement activities related to product quality and process performance.
Carry out any additional tasks assigned by the Senior Quality Inspector.
Accountabilities:
Ensure that all inspection and quality control activities are carried out safely and effectively.
Confirm that products meet quality and customer requirements at all inspection stages and prior to release.
Ensure calibration activities are completed and certified on schedule.
Maintain proper control, handling, and preservation of all Monitoring and Measuring Equipment.
Guarantee adequate maintenance and timely issuance of all inspection and quality documents.
Promote a culture of safety and quality throughout all operations.
Education and Experience:
Education: ITI / Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical or equivalent).
Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in an engineering or manufacturing workshop environment.
Skills and Competencies:
Performing incoming, in-process, and final inspections.
Preparation of Certificates of Conformance (COC).
Monitoring and Measuring Equipment (MME) control and calibration.
Preparation and maintenance of MME calibration history records.
Performing internal calibration of ring gauges.
Maintaining and checking API gauge usage records.
Conducting and reviewing raw material inspection reports.
Strong attention to detail and adherence to quality standards.
Good communication and documentation skills.
Training Requirements:

API Spec 7-1 and 7-2 Requirements Training.
Machining Handbook and Work Instruction Training.
DS-1 Inspection Awareness Training.
Calibration Awareness Training.
