Senior Merchandiser

Job Description:

Sampling & Product Development

Develop proto, fit, size set, PP (pre-production) & shipment samples as per buyer requirement
Arrange fabrics, trims, accessories for sampling
Ensure samples are made on time & sent with proper details

Buyer Communication

Communicate with buyers / buying houses for tech pack, comments, approvals
Send sample photos, videos, costing sheet, test reports etc.
Handle queries related to design, fabric, trims, stitching, packaging

Costing & Consumption

Calculate fabric consumption, trims cost & total garment costing
Negotiate price with suppliers & give costing sheet to buyer / management
Maintain cost sheet records for each style

Tech Pack & BOM (Bill of Material)

Understand buyer tech pack, specs, measurement sheet
Prepare internal BOM for production dept
Create style file with all details: fabric, wash, label, packing, stitching, etc.

Coordination with Departments

Coordinate with fabric sourcing, trims, production, QA, and logistics
Follow up with pattern master, sampling tailors, printing, embroidery vendors
Ensure all approvals are received before bulk production

TNA / Time & Action Plan

Prepare and maintain TNA chart for each order
Track sample deadline, approvals, PO, fabric in-house, production start etc.
Update management on delays or risk points

Quality & Compliance

Check sample measurements, stitching quality, finishing quality
Ensure compliance requirements: wash test, color fastness, fabric quality
Get approval from buyer for fit, fabric, trims, print, embroidery, packaging

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain sample tracker, buyer comments sheet, style file
Raise sample requisition, PO for fabrics/trims
Submit daily & weekly status update to seniors
