Design Engineer ( Electrical )

Job Description:

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer with strong experience in the transformers industry. The ideal candidate must have hands-on knowledge of CT–PT (Current Transformer & Potential Transformer) testing and a solid understanding of transformer design principles, standards, and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop transformer components, assemblies, and related systems as per project requirements.

• Perform calculations, simulations, and design validation to ensure compliance with electrical and mechanical specifications.

• Apply CT–PT testing knowledge to validate design integrity and performance.

• Prepare technical drawings, design documents, BOMs, and engineering reports.

• Support the production, testing, and quality teams during manufacturing and testing phases.

• Ensure designs meet industry standards (IS/IEC) and internal quality guidelines.

• Assist in troubleshooting design-related issues and implement corrective actions.

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Procurement, Quality, and Sales.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Diploma in Electrical Engineering (B.E./B.Tech/Diploma).

• Mandatory: Experience in the transformers industry.

• Must-have: Strong knowledge of CT–PT testing and transformer testing procedures.

• Good understanding of transformer design, material selection, and industry standards.

• Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.

• Ability to work independently and within a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with type testing and routine testing of transformers.

• Knowledge of insulation systems, winding designs, and core design.

• Exposure to quality standards and certification processes.
