Job Description – PGT Geography Teacher

Qualification:

• M.A./M.Sc. in Geography

• B.Ed. mandatory (preferred for CBSE/ICSE schools)

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of teaching experience at senior secondary level 

Responsibilities:

• Teach Geography to Classes 11 & 12 as per CBSE/ICSE curriculum

• Cover Physical Geography, Human Geography, Cartography & Practical Geography

• Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, maps, and project guidelines

• Conduct map-work sessions and practical evaluations

• Assess and evaluate student performance regularly

• Guide students for board exams and improve answer-writing skills

• Maintain classroom discipline and create an interactive learning environment

• Participate in PTMs, staff meetings, field trips & school events

• Stay updated with curriculum changes and modern teaching techniques

Skills Required:

• Strong subject knowledge in Physical & Human Geography

• Ability to teach map-reading, atlas skills & practical geography

• Good communication and classroom management skills

• Familiarity with digital teaching tools and smart classroom setup (preferred)
