Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement & Purchasing
Manage the complete purchasing cycle: PR verification, RFQ, comparison, negotiation, PO issuance, and follow-up.
Source and purchase geotechnical materials (e.g., instruments, consumables, drilling accessories, tools, safety items).
Identify alternate vendors to ensure quality, timely supply, and cost efficiency.
Track delivery schedules and ensure materials reach site/warehouse as per project timelines.
- Vendor Management
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and contractors.
Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, delivery, price, and service.
Prepare and update approved vendor lists for key material categories.
- Price Negotiation & Cost Control
Negotiate prices, payment terms, warranty, delivery, and other commercial terms.
Conduct price benchmarking and market rate analysis for high-value items.
Achieve cost savings through effective negotiation and supplier development.
- Warehouse Audit & Stock Reconciliation (Travel Component)
Visit warehouses and project sites for periodic physical stock verification.
Perform stock reconciliation and ensure alignment between physical stock and system data (ERP/Excel).
Audit material receipts, issues, and returns to ensure process compliance.
Prepare audit reports with discrepancies, corrective actions, and follow-up.
Coordinate with storekeepers and site engineers to resolve stock issues.
- Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate procurement records, POs, GRNs, delivery notes, and stock registers.
Ensure adherence to company procurement policies and statutory compliance.
Assist Accounts/Finance team in invoice verification, payment processing, and vendor queries.
- Coordination
Work closely with project teams, warehouse staff, storekeepers, and management.
Coordinate urgent material requirements for ongoing projects.
Support logistics planning and shipment tracking.
- Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Commerce, Engineering, or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in Procurement within Geotechnical / Construction / Infrastructure industry.
- Strong knowledge of geotechnical materials & site-related consumables.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel mandatory); ERP experience preferred.
- Good negotiation, analytical, and vendor management skills.
- Ability to travel to warehouses and project sites (within and outside the state).
- Strong documentation and reporting skills.
