Job Description:

Position:           Engineering & Maintenance Head

Location:          Vapi

Experience:       15 - 25 Years

Industries:        Pharma

Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Engineering
  • Develop and implement engineering strategies aligned with business growth, plant expansion, and regulatory expectations.
  • Plan and execute capex projects including equipment upgrades, facility expansions, and energy-saving initiatives.
  • Ensure facilities, utilities, and engineering systems comply with USFDA, EMA, and other international regulatory standards.
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert during regulatory audits, customer inspections, and technical assessments.
  • Implement sustainability initiatives focused on energy efficiency, water management, and effluent handling.
  • Drive innovation through automation, digital monitoring tools, and advanced CMMS-based maintenance systems.
  1. Maintenance Operations
  • Ensure continuous availability and reliability of plant equipment, utilities, and infrastructure.
  • Lead preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities across production equipment and utilities (boilers, chillers, compressors, HVAC, WFI, RO/DM, ETP/STP).
  • Track and improve KPIs such as equipment uptime, MTBF, and MTTR.
  • Ensure timely equipment calibration, qualification, and documentation in compliance with GMP requirements.
  • Oversee effective troubleshooting to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Maintain engineering documentation including logbooks, SOPs, and maintenance records to ensure audit readiness.
  • Enforce EHS standards and promote safe engineering practices.
  • Mentor, guide, and develop engineering & maintenance teams to strengthen technical capability.

Required Skills:

  • Strong understanding of API/Pharma utilities and process equipment.
  • Hands-on expertise in preventive & predictive maintenance systems (preferably CMMS-based).
  • Knowledge of calibration, qualification, and validation requirements.
  • Strong understanding of cGMP standards and regulatory audit expectations.
  • Familiarity with automation, instrumentation, and energy management technologies
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to align engineering functions with business and regulatory objectives.
  • Problem-Solving: Sound technical judgement and structured approach to RCA.
  • Collaboration: Strong interface with QA, Production, RA, SCM, and EHS.
  • Leadership: Ability to build, motivate, and retain a high-performing engineering team.
  • Accountability: Strong ownership toward plant reliability, compliance, and cost optimization.
  • Agility: Quick response to equipment failures and audit-related demands

Required Qualification: - B.E/B.Tech - Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation/Chemical

Salary :- Upto 35.00 LPA
