Senior Business Analyst (System Deconstruction &
Delivery Lead)

Role Summary
The Senior Business Analyst is the lead requirements architect for the platform modernization
initiative. You will focus primarily on deconstructing complex, interwoven logic from the legacy
monolith and translating it into precise, API-driven specifications for the new microservices. You
will drive feature completion for the most critical platform modules and provide technical
oversight and mentorship to the Junior BA to ensure alignment and quality across the entire
requirements pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
A. Architecture Bridge & System Deconstruction
● Legacy Logic Dissection: Lead the analysis of undocumented business rules, data flows,
and configuration logic within the monolith. Define the service boundaries required for
the microservice architecture.
● API Specification Ownership: Own the detailed functional specifications and API
contracts (JSON/XML structures) for critical platform services, ensuring technical
feasibility and scalability.
● Data Migration Strategy: Collaborate with the Lead BA and Engineering on the
Source-to-Target Data Mapping strategy for complex benefits and member data during
the migration.
B. Advanced Requirements & Delivery

Complex Feature Management: Drive the requirements for high-complexity modules,
such as real-time Accumulator Management or complex claims pre-adjudication rules.
● Domain Expertise (Mandatory): Serve as the go-to expert for US Benefits Plan Design
and EDI X12 standards (834, 837), ensuring the technical team’s output is 100%
compliant and accurate.
● Process Governance: Establish and enforce standards for requirements documentation
(including JIRA/Confluence structure) and the Definition of Ready (DoR) across the BA
team.
C. Quality, Validation & Mentorship
● High-Level SQL Validation: Perform complex SQL queries for advanced data analysis,
troubleshooting, and validating the logic of newly built microservices.
● Mentorship: Directly guide and review the work of the Junior BA, teaching best practices
in story writing, stakeholder management, and benefits documentation.
● UAT Leadership: Strategize and oversee UAT execution for major releases, focusing on
end-to-end integration points.
Required Qualifications
● Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience as a Business Analyst, with 4+ years
directly in US Healthcare Payer/Benefits Technology.
● Technical Skills (Mandatory): Highly proficient in writing complex SQL queries. Proven
ability to define and interpret API specifications (JSON/XML).
● Domain Expertise: Expert-level knowledge of US benefits plan configuration,
Accumulator Logic, and EDI X12 834/837/820 standards.
● Soft Skills: Proven mentorship experience; exceptional leadership and conflict resolution
skills.
