Procurement Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Procurement Specialist to join our team and manage sourcing, purchasing, and supply chain activities for a wide range of engineering and industrial products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement for technical products, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to work with vendors across India and internationally.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead procurement activities for engineering products including marine engines, generator sets (diesel and gas), pump systems, hydraulics, fire safety equipment, and related spare parts.
• Source and evaluate suppliers for Indian and international products, ensuring quality, delivery timelines, and cost competitiveness.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiate terms, pricing, contracts, and long-term agreements.
• Manage purchase orders from initiation to closure, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with company procedures.
• Work closely with internal teams — sales, operations, technical, and logistics — to understand requirements and plan procurement accordingly.
• Monitor inventory levels, anticipate shortages, and proactively plan orders to prevent supply disruptions.
• Conduct supplier evaluations, performance reviews, and risk assessments to ensure dependable supply and quality standards.
• Travel extensively across India and potentially overseas to visit suppliers, attend trade shows, and strengthen procurement networks.
• Track market trends, commodity pricing, and product developments to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

Required Skills :

• Minimum 5 years of procurement experience, preferably in marine or heavy engineering sectors.
• Strong technical understanding of the Industry.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to travel frequently and work independently with a proactive mindset.
