Project Incharge
Job Description:
Purpose of the Role
The Project In-Charge is responsible for end-to-end execution, coordination, and control of
Wind, Solar, and Thermal Power projects, ensuring completion within approved timelines,
budget, quality, and safety standards, while complying with statutory and environmental
norms.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
Lead complete project lifecycle from design, procurement, construction, commissioning
to handover.
Prepare and monitor project schedules, milestones, and budgets.
Coordinate with consultants, EPC contractors, OEMs, and internal departments.
Ensure timely resource mobilization (manpower, machinery, materials).
Technical Management
Review and approve engineering drawings, layouts, and technical specifications.
Oversee installation and commissioning of:
o Wind turbines and substations
o Solar PV modules, inverters, SCADA systems
o Thermal plant equipment (boilers, turbines, BOP systems)
Resolve technical issues during execution and commissioning.
Cost & Contract Management
Control project costs and optimize resource utilization.
Review contractor bills, BOQs, variation orders, and claims.
Ensure adherence to contractual obligations and payment milestones.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
Implement QA/QC systems as per project and statutory standards.
Ensure compliance with HSE norms, safety audits, and toolbox talks.
Ensure statutory approvals, inspections, and certifications from relevant authorities.
Monitor environmental compliance and sustainability standards.
Stakeholder Coordination
Liaise with DISCOMs, transmission utilities, regulatory bodies, local authorities, and
landowners.
Represent the company in project review meetings and site inspections.
Coordinate grid synchronization and power evacuation approvals.
Reporting & Documentation
Prepare daily/weekly/monthly project progress reports.
Maintain complete project documentation including drawings, test reports, and handover
dossiers.
Track risks and implement mitigation plans.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
On-time project completion
Cost variance vs approved budget
Quality and safety compliance score
Successful commissioning and grid synchronization
Zero fatal accidents / minimal safety incidents
Qualification & Experience
B.E./B.Tech in Electrical / Mechanical / Civil / Power Engineering
7–15 years of experience in power projects
Hands-on experience in Wind, Solar, and/or Thermal Power Plants
Experience in EPC project execution preferred
Technical & Skill Requirements
Strong knowledge of power plant systems and grid connectivity
Proficiency in MS Project / Primavera / ERP systems
Understanding of Indian power regulations and codes
Leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management
