As part of our growth journey, CMR is setting up a new Aluminium Ingots and Liquid Aluminium manufacturing plant at Shoolagiri, Tamil Nadu, with a total installed capacity of 36,000 MTPA, to be developed in phases.
The Head HR – Project / Plant HR will lead the end-to-end HR setup for a Greenfield manufacturing project, covering Project HR planning, IR/ER framework creation, statutory readiness, manpower ramp-up, contractor onboarding, and culture building from project phase through commercial production. This role is critical in establishing HR systems, policies, industrial harmony, compliance, and people practices aligned with business timelines.

Qualifications
Essential:
MBA /MSW/ Post graduate degree or diploma in Human Resource management (2 years Full Time) from Institute Recognized by UGC/ AICTE.
Desired:
Degree / Diploma in T&D, Labour Laws
Experience:
Around 7+ years of experience in Plant IR/ER function preferably in the Manufacturing sector with minimum 400 and above workforce. Proven experience in Greenfield / Project HR setup is Mandatory
Candidate should have at least 3+ years of experience of HR Generalist role as Head ER/ IR or 2+ Years’ experience as second in command in Employee Relation function in large organization.
Position description:
This position is responsible for overseeing the entire gamut of Industrial Relations & Employee relations activities at the plant and providing strategic IR support to the Management.
Primary Responsibilities:
Industrial Relations:
- Ensure cordial Industrial Relations and manage efficiently to avoid labour unrest & instilling high productive work culture amongst Workmen.
- Ensure Grievance handling mechanism
Union Management:
- Ensure peaceful and harmonious relationship with Unions.
- Regular interaction with the trade union representatives and develop positive relationship.
Manpower Planning:
- Effective Manpower Planning & handling redundancy with a view to enhance productivity. Carry out Manpower Study & Communicate with Trade Union, motivate emp.to improve work culture
Time Office Management & Wage and salary administration:
- Ensure timely payment of salary to staff and wages to workmen/ contract labour
- To ensure efficient management of all activities
Contract Labour Management - Effective implementation of Contract Labour Management System and coordination of legal cases pertaining to various labour laws
Legal Matters and disciplinary proceedings:
- Monitoring all the cases pending before the labour authorities / in labour courts. •Facilitate promotion of discipline among the work force
Legal Compliances:
- To Ensure that all the statutory compliances applicable to the Industrial Establishment are strictly adhered to and to also ensure maintenance of documentation
Land Matters: Coordinate and support land procurement activities and ensure no encroachment activities of company land
Employee Services & General Admin
- To plan, formulate, execute, review and monitor the various Employees welfare services.
- Resource Delivery Ensuring impeccable services to Int./Ext. stakeholders
HRMIS
- Management Information System (HRMIS)
- Collation & collation of Various HR activities & prepare HR-MIS for Management Review
Employees Engagement and Employee Relationship Building
- Ensure internal communication to employees on key HR/ ER initiatives. • Plan & Implement various Employees Engagement activities like
Town Halls, communication meet, Skip level meeting, Think Tank, Open door, Family Day, cake Day (Emp. B ‘day Celebration), suggestion scheme, Help Desk (Voice of Emp.) solution within 24 hours etc.
- Drive various kind of Employee Reward & Recognition scheme especially related to blue collar employees at unit level in coordination with department in-charges
Peoples Development
- Ensure that workmen & contractor Workers better contribute to their work with high moral.
- Facilitate skill gaps mapping & training needs of individual workmen. Job rotation for multi-skilling Counselling
- Administer motivational schemes
- Subordinate development
Employer Brand Building & Public Relations:
- Undertake Employer Brand Building / culture building initiatives for complete transformation at organization level.
- Ensure harmonious relationship with Government Official and surrounding community to improve organization image
- Liaison and keeping good rapport with various Govt. Offices & Pvt. bodies like Health & Safety, Local Police, Electricity Board, Employment Exchange, Municipal Corporation, NGO, politician, Adv. etc.
TPM/ WCM & Sustainability Initiatives Implementation:
- To ensure that TPM/WCM standards are rolled out at plant as per standard framework; • To help implement GRI G4 Standards at the establishment
