Job Description:

🎯 Job Summary:

The Safety Officer is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment at the wastewater treatment facility. This role involves conducting risk assessments, training personnel, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and responding to emergencies.

 

🛠️ Key Responsibilities:

  1. Safety Program Development & Implementation

Develop and enforce comprehensive safety policies and procedures in line with local, state, and national regulations.

 

Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to safety standards.

 

Maintain and update safety documentation, including incident reports and safety manuals.

 

  1. Risk Assessment & Hazard Control

Identify potential hazards and conduct thorough risk assessments for all operations.

 

Implement control measures to mitigate identified risks.

 

Monitor the effectiveness of implemented safety measures and make necessary adjustments.

 

  1. Training & Education

Develop and deliver safety training programs for all staff and contractors.

 

Ensure personnel are informed about safety protocols, emergency procedures, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

 

Keep abreast of new safety regulations and best practices, updating training materials accordingly.

 

  1. Incident Investigation & Reporting

Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes.

 

Prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

 

Maintain accurate records of all incidents and safety observations.

 

  1. Emergency Preparedness

Develop and implement emergency response plans specific to the facility.

 

Conduct regular emergency drills to ensure readiness.

 

Coordinate with local emergency services and regulatory authorities as needed.

 

  1. Regulatory Compliance

Ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations, including OSHA standards.

 

Stay updated on changes in safety legislation and implement necessary changes to company policies.

 

Coordinate with regulatory bodies during inspections and audits.
