Job Description – Injection Moulding Machine Operator

Position Title: Injection Moulding Machine Operator
Department: Production

Reporting To: Production Supervisor / Shift In-charge

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor injection molding machines as per daily production plan.
• Set up moulds, change inserts, and adjust machine parameters to meet product specifications.
• Perform machine start-up, shut-down, parameter setting, and basic troubleshooting activities.
• Handle raw material loading, mixing, drying, and ensure proper moisture control, especially for PET material.
• Work with PET grade materialsand ensure correct drying temperature, dehumidification, and processing conditions for preform production.
• Operate and monitor preform molding machinesand ensure correct weight, transparency, and dimensional accuracy of preforms.
• Inspect finished parts and preforms for defects such as flashing, short shot, bubbles, black spots, burn marks, and dimensional variation.
• Maintain production records including machine parameters, cycle time, output, rejection, and scrap details.
• Assist in mould changeover, mould cleaning, mould alignment, and mould maintenance support.
• Check mould cooling lines, ejector movement, hot runner systems, and ensure mould safety interlocks are functioning.
• Possess basic machine knowledgeof hydraulics, pneumatics, heaters, barrel temperature zones, screw function, back pressure, and injection parameters.
• Identify and report machine abnormalities such as unusual noise, oil leakage, temperature deviation, or breakdown issues.
• Support preventive maintenance of machines, moulds, dryers, loaders, chillers, and compressors.
