Job Title               : Purchase Manager

Department:       : Supply Chain/Procurement

Exp: -                     : 04 to 05 years

Qualification      : B.Sc./BBA / OR bachelor’s degree in supply chain management / MBA will be an added advantage.

Exp                       : 5+ years in procurement, with significant experience in the manufacturing sector.

CTC                       : 7-9 lacs p.a.

Job Location       : Mundra – Kutch

Skills: Excellent negotiation, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills; proficiency in MS office, procurement software/ERP systems.

 

Job Summary:

The Purchase Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategic purchasing plans, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and overseeing the procurement of raw materials, equipment, and services to support efficient manufacturing operations while optimizing consumables cost, and timely procurement of steel, raw materials, and ensuring quality.

Key responsibilities include strategic sourcing, vendor performance management, risk mitigation, budget control, and cross-functional collaboration with production/engineering for materials, while qualifications often require a degree and significant procurement experience in manufacturing.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute procurement strategies, forecast demand, and analyse market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate supply chain risks.

Supplier Management: Source, evaluate, select, and manage a reliable supplier base, negotiating favourable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.

Procurement Operations: Oversee the entire purchase order cycle, ensuring timely, quality, and cost-effective procurement of all manufacturing inputs. Manage end-to-end procurement of steel, raw materials, and consumables.

Inventory Control: Collaborate with production to maintain optimal inventory levels, preventing stockouts or excess inventory.

Cost Management: Track expenditures, analyze costs, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to reduce expenses.

Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Finance to align purchasing with business needs.
