Reports to: AVP Operations
Department: Production
Job Overview:
The Senior Manager of Production will be responsible for overseeing the entire production
process within the wind tower manufacturing facility. This includes managing day-to-day
operations, ensuring the production of high-quality wind towers, optimizing production
efficiency, maintaining safety and quality standards, and leading a team of production
managers, supervisors, and staff. The role will focus on achieving production targets,
continuous improvement, resource allocation, and aligning production with company goals and
customer demands.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Management:
o Oversee the daily production operations, ensuring the timely and efficient
manufacturing of wind towers while meeting customer specifications and
deadlines.
o Develop and implement production schedules, aligning resources and capacities
with demand and ensuring on-time delivery.
o Monitor production processes, identify bottlenecks, and proactively resolve
issues to maximize efficiency.
2. Team Leadership & Development:
o Lead, motivate, and manage a team of production supervisors and operators to
achieve production goals.
o Provide coaching, training, and performance evaluations to improve staff
competencies, productivity, and morale.
o Foster a collaborative and safe working environment, promoting teamwork and
continuous learning.

3. Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement:
o Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and other continuous improvement
methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma) to streamline processes, reduce waste, and
enhance production efficiency.
o Evaluate production processes and identify opportunities for technological
upgrades, cost reduction, and capacity enhancement.
o Lead initiatives to improve product quality, decrease cycle time, and optimize
resource utilization.
4. Quality Control & Compliance:
o Ensure that all production activities comply with relevant quality standards (e.g.,
ISO, AWS) and safety regulations.

o Conduct regular quality checks and inspections to guarantee that manufactured
wind towers meet the required strength, durability, and safety specifications.
o Work with the Quality Assurance team to resolve any quality-related issues and
ensure continuous product improvement.

5. Budget & Resource Management:
o Develop and manage the production budget, ensuring that the manufacturing
process is cost-effective and within the allocated budget.
o Oversee material, equipment, and human resource management to ensure the
efficient use of resources.
o Track production costs, identify areas for cost-saving, and ensure efficient
allocation of resources to meet production goals.
6. Health, Safety & Environmental Responsibility:
o Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the
production facility.
o Promote a safety-first culture and provide training on safety practices for the
production team.
o Regularly review safety protocols and conduct audits to minimize risks and
ensure compliance.

7. Coordination with Other Departments:
o Work closely with engineering, quality, logistics, and procurement teams to
ensure smooth coordination between departments and timely availability of
materials and equipment.
o Support product development and engineering teams in understanding
production capabilities and constraints for new product designs.
o Communicate effectively with senior management, reporting on production
progress, issues, and achievements.
8. Reporting &  Performance Analysis:
o Develop and present production reports, key performance indicators (KPIs), and
progress updates to senior management.
o Analyze production data and trends to identify areas of improvement and
implement corrective actions.
o Provide recommendations on improving operational efficiencies, quality, and
delivery.

9. Strategic Planning & Growth:
o Collaborate with senior management to create long-term strategies for
increasing production capacity, expanding manufacturing capabilities, and
entering new markets.
o Stay current with industry trends, new manufacturing technologies, and
innovations to maintain a competitive edge.
o Lead the implementation of new production technologies or processes to
improve overall efficiency and sustainability.

Qualifications:
 Education: Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,
Industrial Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.
 Experience: 8+ years of experience in production management or manufacturing
leadership roles, with at least 3 years in a senior managerial position, preferably in the
wind tower, heavy steel fabrication, or renewable energy industries.
 Certifications: Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, PMP, or similar certifications are
preferred.
 Skills:
o Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to manage and
motivate diverse teams.
o Expertise in production processes, machinery, and manufacturing techniques,
particularly in the context of large-scale steel fabrication.
o Strong knowledge of quality control processes and regulatory compliance.
o Proficiency in production planning software (e.g., ERP systems) and Microsoft
Office Suite.
o Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
o Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact
effectively with all levels of the organization.

Physical Requirements:
 Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and
potential hazards.
 Ability to lift and move materials as necessary.
 Willingness to occasionally travel to supplier locations or other facilities.
Working Conditions:
 This position is primarily based at a manufacturing facility, with regular interaction with
cross-functional teams and departments.
 May require additional hours, evening or weekend work, depending on production
schedules and deadlines.
