Foundry Manager
Job Description:
*Key Responsibilities*
* Plan, organize, and control daily foundry operations for steel casting and mould production
* Manage melting processes (Induction Furnace/Arc Furnace) and ensure proper metal chemistry
* Supervise mould making, core making, pouring, fettling, and finishing processes
* Ensure adherence to quality standards, drawings, and customer specifications
* Monitor rejection rates and implement corrective & preventive actions
* Coordinate with QA/QC, maintenance, stores, and planning teams
* Ensure preventive maintenance of furnaces, moulding machines, and allied equipment
* Control production cost, yield improvement, and raw material consumption
* Ensure compliance with ISO / QMS / safety / statutory norms
* Lead, train, and motivate production and supervisory staff
* Prepare daily/weekly/monthly production and MIS reports
* Support new product development and process improvements
* Desired Candidate Profile
*Education:*
B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical / Metallurgical Engineering
*Experience:*
* 8–15 years of experience in a steel foundry
* Minimum 3–5 years in a managerial or leadership role
* Strong exposure to steel casting, moulds, melting, and quality control
