A Maintenance Incharge oversees all facility/equipment upkeep, leading a team, scheduling preventive & reactive maintenance, managing budgets, ensuring safety compliance (OSHA/local), handling vendors, tracking supplies, and reporting to management, requiring strong leadership, technical skills, and problem-solving for operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, schedule, and motivate maintenance staff (electricians, plumbers, technicians).
- Planning & Scheduling: Develop and implement preventive maintenance (PM) schedules, prioritize repairs, and plan installations.
- Operations Management: Inspect facilities, diagnose issues, manage breakdowns, and oversee daily maintenance activities.
- Budget & Inventory: Monitor expenses, control budgets, manage maintenance logs, and order supplies/tools.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce health, safety (OSHA), and company policies; conduct safety inspections.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs.
- Reporting: Document activities, track progress, and report to senior management.
Essential Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical) or related field.
- Experience: Proven experience in a supervisory maintenance role.
- Skills: Leadership, technical expertise, budgeting, scheduling, problem-solving, knowledge of safety regulations.
Typical Duties Include
- Executing work orders efficiently.
- Maintaining machinery and facility systems (electrical, hydraulic).
- Managing maintenance procedures and quality standards.
- Handling performance evaluations for direct reports.
