Production Manager

Job Description:

Position: Production Manager – Garment Manufacturing
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Control
• Plan, schedule, and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production activities in line with order requirements.
• Ensure timely completion of export orders in accordance with shipment schedules.
• Monitor and analyze line-wise and style-wise production performance.
• Optimize utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials to achieve production targets.
Quality Management
• Ensure product quality complies with buyer specifications and international export standards.
• Coordinate closely with the QA/QC team to minimize rejections, alterations, and rework.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions to address quality-related issues.
Manpower & Line Management
• Allocate operators, helpers, and supervisors effectively across production lines.
• Maintain shop-floor discipline, attendance, and productivity.
• Train and develop production staff to enhance skills, efficiency, and output.
Coordination & Communication
• Coordinate with Merchandising, Sampling, Cutting, Stores, and Finishing departments for smooth workflow.
• Provide regular production status updates to management, highlighting delays and bottlenecks.
• Participate actively in pre-production meetings (PPM) and ongoing production review meetings.
Cost & Efficiency Control
• Control production costs by reducing wastage, rework, and inefficiencies.
• Drive continuous improvement in productivity and line efficiency.
• Implement lean manufacturing practices and process improvement initiatives.
Compliance & Safety
• Ensure compliance with social, technical, and buyer audit requirements.
• Maintain safe, hygienic, and compliant working conditions on the shop floor.
• Ensure adherence to labor laws, factory regulations, and company policies.
Inventory & WIP Control
• Monitor and control fabric, trims, and accessory consumption.
• Manage work-in-progress (WIP) at each production stage to avoid bottlenecks.
• Minimize excess inventory, material loss, and pilferage.

• Basic computer proficiency, including Excel, production reporting, and ERP systems (preferred).
