We are hiring a Conventional Machine Operator / EDM Operator [Machinist] in Ahmedabad.

Job Description – Conventional Machine Operator / EDM Operator (Die & Mould)

Department: Tool Room / Manufacturing
Reports To: Tool Room In-Charge / Production Manager

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain conventional machinesincluding Lathe, Milling, Drilling, Tapping, and Surface Grinding machines for precision machining of Die & Mould components.
• Perform EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining)operations to manufacture high-precision mould and tool components as per specifications.
• Read, interpret, and understand engineering drawings, tolerances, GD&T symbols, and machining notations.
• Carry out accurate job setup, including tool selection, alignment, fixture setup, and proper clamping of workpieces.
• Measure, inspect, and verify components using precision measuring instrumentssuch as micrometers, Vernier calipers, height gauges, dial indicators, and gauges.
• Ensure high dimensional accuracy and required surface finishfor mould and die parts.
• Perform preventive maintenance and basic troubleshootingof machines to ensure smooth and continuous operation.
• Coordinate with Design, Tool Room, Assembly, and Quality teamsto ensure correct machining and timely completion of components.
• Follow company safety guidelines, 5S practices, and housekeeping standardsto maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Maintain work records, report deviations or quality issues, and ensure adherence to production schedules.
• Demonstrate willingness to work in shifts, overtime, or extended hours as per production requirements.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Proficiency in Lathe and Milling operations.
• Experience in Drilling, Tapping, and Surface Grinding.
• Hands-on knowledge of EDM machining processes.
• Strong ability in blueprint reading and dimensional inspection.
• Skilled in tool handling, machine setup, and preventive maintenance.
• Attention to detail with a strong focus on quality and accuracy.
