Job Description:

A PCB Quality Assistant Manager ensures that Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) and Assemblies (PCBAs) meet technical specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements. They lead quality teams, manage supplier quality, reduce rejections, and drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes. 

Job Summary

  • Position: Assistant Manager – PCB/PCBA Quality
  • Reporting to: Quality Manager / Head of QA
  • Key Focus: Process QA, Supplier Quality, Root Cause Analysis, Regulatory Compliance (IPC, ISO). 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Quality Assurance & Control (QA/QC)
  • Manage daily QA/QC operations, ensuring 100% compliance with manufacturing orders.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Interpret and apply IPC-A-600 (PCB), IPC-A-610 (Assemblies), and J-STD-001 standards.
  • Perform inspection of raw materials (bare boards, components) and finished goods.
  • Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of inspection tools and equipment. 
  1. Process Improvement & Technical Support
  • Analyze PCBA/PCB Gerber files, BOMs, and Fab drawings.
  • Drive DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) requirements.
  • Utilize Root Cause Analysis (RCA) techniques (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone) to resolve rejections and reduce rework rates.
  • Monitor SMT, PTH-Wave, Press-Fit, and Conformal Coating processes. 
  1. Supplier Quality Management
  • Collaborate with PCB fabricators, contract manufacturers, and component suppliers to ensure quality standards.
  • Conduct supplier audits and product audits as per schedule.
  • Handle supplier corrective actions (SCAR) and follow up on improvements. 
  1. Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead and manage a team of quality inspectors, technicians, and junior engineers.
  • Conduct training on quality standards, SOPs, and troubleshooting techniques for operators.
  • Organize Quality Review/QRQC meetings. 

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: BE/B.Tech in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience: 6–10 years of experience in PCB assembly, Electronic Product manufacturing  quality, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership/supervisory role.
