Role Purpose
The Technical Manager – Civil (L&D) will be responsible for designing, delivering, and managing technical learning programs for internal teams and external stakeholders. The role bridges civil engineering expertise with structured capability development, ensuring technical excellence, safety, and application-led learning across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Training & Capability Building
- Design and deliver civil engineering–based technical training programs for sales, projects, QA, and site teams.
- Conduct classroom, on-site, and virtual training sessions on construction practices, materials, standards, and application methods.
- Develop training content including manuals, presentations, videos, SOPs, and assessments.
Learning Design & Program Management
- Identify training needs through skill-gap analysis and business alignment.
- Develop structured technical certification and induction programs.
- Measure training effectiveness using pre/post assessments and performance metrics.
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Support
- Work closely with sales, projects, R&D, QA, and marketing teams to align learning with business needs.
- Support product launches with technical training and application demonstrations.
- Act as a technical SME for internal queries and escalations.
Site Support & Knowledge Transfer
- Conduct site visits for technical audits, troubleshooting, and best-practice sharing.
- Train contractors, applicators, engineers, and channel partners.
- Document learnings and create a centralized technical knowledge repository.
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure training aligns with IS codes, safety standards, and quality benchmarks.
- Stay updated on new construction technologies, materials, and methods.
- Continuously enhance training programs based on feedback and field insights.

Educational Qualification
- B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering
- M.Tech or L&D / Training certification preferred
Experience
- 8–12 years of experience in civil engineering / construction
- 3–5 years in technical training, L&D, or knowledge management roles
- Exposure to construction chemicals / concrete / waterproofing / finishing systems preferred
