Job Description
Position: Assistant Manager / Manager – Maintenance
Location: BEIL – Dahej Unit
Department: Maintenance (Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation)
Experience Required: Minimum 9–10 Years (Core Maintenance)
CTC: ₹8–10 LPA (Negotiable based on experience & skill set)

Job Purpose
The Assistant Manager / Manager – Maintenance will be responsible for planning,
execution, and supervision of all maintenance activities related to Mechanical, Electrical,
and Instrumentation (MEI) systems to ensure smooth plant operations, maximum
equipment availability, statutory compliance, and cost optimization at the Dahej unit.

Key Responsibilities
1. Maintenance Planning & Execution
 Plan, schedule, and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance
activities for plant machinery and utilities.
 Ensure minimum downtime of equipment through effective maintenance strategies.
 Prepare and implement annual maintenance plans and shutdown schedules.
 Coordinate with production and operations teams for smooth maintenance
execution.

2. Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation Oversight
 Supervise maintenance of rotary & static equipment, pumps, compressors,
gearboxes, reactors, heat exchangers, pipelines, and valves.
 Oversee maintenance of electrical systems including HT/LT panels, transformers, DG
sets, motors, MCCs, and power distribution.
 Manage instrumentation systems such as PLC/DCS, transmitters, control valves,
sensors, analyzers, and field instruments.
 Troubleshoot complex MEI issues and provide root cause analysis (RCA).
3. Team Management & Development
 Lead, guide, and motivate a team of engineers, supervisors, technicians, and
contract manpower.
 Allocate jobs, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to SOPs and safety
standards.
 Identify training needs and support skill development of maintenance staff.
4. Spare Parts & Cost Control
 Manage critical spares inventory and ensure availability of essential parts.
 Coordinate with purchase and stores departments for timely procurement.
 Control maintenance costs and contribute to budget preparation and cost
optimization initiatives.
5. Safety, Statutory & Compliance
 Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, safety norms, and plant standards.
 Enforce work permit systems, LOTO, and safe maintenance practices.
 Support audits (internal, external, statutory) and close observations in time.
 Promote a strong safety culture across maintenance activities.
6. Documentation & Reporting
 Maintain maintenance logs, breakdown reports, SOPs, and history cards.
 Prepare MIS reports related to downtime, maintenance KPIs, and equipment
performance.
 Support implementation of TPM / 5S / ISO / safety systems as applicable.

Desired Candidate Profile
 Qualification:
o BE / B.Tech / in Mechanical
 Experience:
o Minimum 9–10 years of hands-on experience in core maintenance
o Experience in chemical / manufacturing / process industry preferred
o Exposure to plant shutdowns, commissioning, and equipment installation is
desirable
 Technical Skills:
o Strong knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation maintenance
o Experience with preventive & breakdown maintenance systems
o Familiarity with PLC/DCS and industrial safety practices
o Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
 Behavioral Skills:
o Leadership and team-handling ability
o Strong coordination and communication skills
o Proactive, result-oriented, and safety-focused approach
