Job Description:
A Production Manager (Ferro) oversees the entire ferro-alloy smelting process, managing raw material input, furnace operations (electrodes, tapping, power), quality control, and personnel to achieve production targets safely. Responsibilities include optimizing furnace performance, data analysis, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Core Responsibilities:
- Furnace Management: Oversee all aspects of the electric arc furnace or submerged arc furnace, including raw material, charging, electrode management, and tapping.
- Production Planning & Execution: Develop and execute daily/monthly production schedules to meet volume and quality standards.
- Quality & Technical Control: Ensure the correct composition of metal and slag, analyzing process data to maintain product quality.
- Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance yield.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor production staff, including allocating manpower and training operators.
- Resource Management: Monitor raw material stocks, consumables, and maintenance of equipment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: Generally 5-10+ years in ferro alloy, metallurgical, or steel manufacturing industries.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Metallurgy, Engineering, or relevant technical field.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of smelting, furnace operations, and ferro-alloy metallurgy (e.g., Ferro Silicon, Silico Manganese).
- Analytical Skills: Proficient in data tracking, reporting, and problem identification.

- Meeting production tonnage targets.
- Power consumption optimization.
- Finished product quality and chemical composition compliance.
- Safety incident reduction (zero-accident goal).
