Job Description:
A Manager HR for a mining company oversees all human resource functions, focusing on talent acquisition, statutory compliance (labor laws, safety regulations), employee relations, and workforce development in challenging, often remote environments. Key responsibilities include managing site-specific recruitment, payroll, performance management, and promoting safety culture to ensure a productive, legal workplace. 
Key Responsibilities
  • Talent Acquisition & Management: Drive end-to-end recruitment, sourcing skilled mining personnel, managing turnover, and conducting onboarding for site/corporate staff.
  • Compliance & Labor Laws: Ensure strict adherence to statutory regulations (ESI, PF, labor laws, safety compliance, and mining-specific rules).
  • Employee Relations: Manage on-site grievances, foster a positive, inclusive culture, and handle employee welfare in remote or camp settings.
  • Performance & Training: Implement performance appraisal systems and design training programs to enhance productivity and safety.
  • Payroll & Administration: Oversee payroll, attendance, leave records, and benefits administration.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop HR strategies aligned with company goals and mining operational requirements. 
Qualifications & Skills
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience: 3–5+ years of HR experience, preferably in mining, manufacturing, or industrial, heavy-industry sectors.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and MS Office.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication, conflict resolution, and leadership abilities.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of labor laws, union relations, and health/safety regulations. 
Core Competencies for Mining HR
  • High adaptability to remote or hazardous site locations.
  • Strong crisis management skills to handle industrial disputes or safety emergencies.
  • Ability to manage a diverse, multi-generational, and often rotating workforce.
