Job Description:
A Civil Engineer in Steel Manufacturing designs, manages, and oversees the construction of plant infrastructure (structures, foundations, roads) and ensures the maintenance and safety of existing facilities, focusing on structural integrity, regulatory compliance, and budget management, requiring skills in CAD software, project coordination, site supervision, and technical documentation for steel/RCC projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Analysis: Perform structural analysis, design steel/RCC elements (beams, columns, crane foundations, storage areas) using software (AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, Revit).
- Project Management: Oversee projects from conception to completion, managing timelines, budgets, resources, and materials (BOQs, MTOs).
- Site Supervision: Monitor construction, inspect work, supervise teams (engineers, laborers), ensure adherence to drawings and quality standards.
- Quality & Safety: Implement safety protocols, conduct audits (NDT), ensure structural integrity, and ensure compliance with codes and regulations.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare detailed drawings, reports, cost estimates, and construction methodologies.
- Coordination: Liaise with clients, contractors, designers, and other stakeholders.
- Maintenance: Plan and manage upkeep and upgrades of existing plant infrastructure.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Education: B.E./Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- Experience: In steel structures, Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB), fabrication, erection, retrofitting, corrosion protection.
- Technical Skills: AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, Revit, structural design, NDT methods, lifting operations.
- Soft Skills: Project management, communication, problem-solving, site management.
