AutoCAD Engineer
Job Description:
Department: Design & Project Execution
Reports To: Project Head
Overview:
We are looking for a skilled AutoCAD Engineer with expertise in HVAC system design,
BOQ preparation, material planning, and project execution. This role involves creating
precise HVAC drawings, coordinating with the project team, ensuring material availability,
and supporting smooth execution at the site. The ideal candidate should have technical
proficiency in AutoCAD, HVAC design knowledge, and the ability to manage project
coordination efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
1. HVAC Design & Drafting:
● Develop detailed HVAC system layouts, ducting, piping, and equipment placement
using AutoCAD.
● Prepare shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings as per project
requirements.
● Ensure designs comply with ASHRAE, ISHRAE, and local HVAC codes & standards.
2. BOQ Preparation & Material Planning:
● Create accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQs) based on the HVAC design and project
scope.
● Identify and estimate materials, equipment, and accessories required for execution.
● Coordinate with vendors and procurement teams to ensure timely material
availability.
3. Site Coordination & Project Execution:
● Collaborate with site engineers to ensure designs are implemented correctly.
● Modify drawings based on site conditions and provide updated plans when
necessary.
● Conduct site visits to verify installation feasibility and resolve design-related issues.
4. Vendor & Supplier Coordination:
● Work with vendors to ensure materials meet project specifications and quality
standards.
● Provide technical support to the procurement team for selecting the right HVAC
equipment.
5. Reporting & Documentation:
● Maintain records of design changes, material approvals, and technical specifications.
● Prepare weekly progress reports on HVAC design completion and material dispatch.
● Provide updates to the Project Manager, Design Head, and Procurement Team for
tracking project timelines.
● Generate technical reports on design efficiency, cost impact, and execution
challenges.
6. Documentation & Compliance:
● Maintain records of design revisions, approvals, and material specifications.
● Ensure proper documentation for project handover, quality checks, and compliance.
● Generate technical reports, progress updates, and coordination documents as
needed.
In summary, key responsibilities are:
● Draft HVAC layouts, ducting, and piping using AutoCAD.
● Prepare shop, coordination, and as-built drawings.
● Create BOQs and plan materials based on design.
● Coordinate with vendors and procurement teams.
● Modify drawings based on site feedback.
● Maintain documentation and provide technical support.
● Daily reporting and quarterly self-performance review.
Qualifications & Experience:
● Education: Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC
Engineering, or a related field.
● Experience: 2-5 years of experience in HVAC design, AutoCAD drafting, and project
coordination.
● Software Proficiency: AutoCAD (mandatory), Revit (preferred), MS Excel for BOQ
management.
● Strong understanding of HVAC system components, airflow design, and material
selection.
Key Skills & Competencies:
● Technical Expertise: HVAC system design, duct sizing, piping layouts, and BOQ
preparation.
● AutoCAD Mastery: Ability to create detailed 2D drawings and modify designs per
site requirements.
● Project Coordination: Efficiently manage material procurement and execution
timelines.
● Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot design issues and offer practical solutions.
● Attention to Detail: Ensure design accuracy and compliance with project standards.
● Team Collaboration: Work closely with sales, procurement, and site teams for
seamless execution.

● Travel Required: Occasional site visits for design verification and project execution
support.
● Work Mode: Office-based with collaboration across teams and external vendors.
● Team Interaction: Direct communication with sales, project managers, and
procurement teams.
