Fire Fighting Draftsman
Job Description:
The Fire Fighting Draftsman will be responsible for preparing shop drawings, coordinating fire protection layouts, and as-built drawings for all fire-fighting systems in MEP projects. You will work closely with design engineers, BIM modellers, project managers, site engineers, and other discipline draftsmen to ensure drawings are execution ready and aligned with project specifications and fire safety standards.
Key Responsibilities (Drafting & Design)
• Prepare Fire Fighting shop drawings for various systems, including hydrant systems, sprinkler systems, hose reel systems, fire pump rooms, fire water tanks, landing valves, yard hydrants, and related accessories that are good for approval.
• Prepare coordinated drawings integrating fire protection services with HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Review design drawings and specifications, incorporate revisions, and prepare final drafts for execution.
• Generate as-built drawings based on site measurements and field updates.
• Prepare BIM models (if required) or work with BIM teams to incorporate fire-fighting systems into coordinated BIM models.
• Support Bill of Quantities (BOQ) extraction and material take-offs from drawings.
• Collaborate with site engineers to ensure drawings reflect real site conditions, installation requirements, and compliance with fire safety codes.
• Assist in coordination for tenders, client approvals, consultant reviews, and authority submissions.
• Use AutoCAD (mandatory) and Revit MEP (preferred) for drafting and modelling.

1. Delivery & Quality
• Timely completion of shop and as-built drawings as per project schedules.
• Accuracy of drafting with minimal errors or rework (identified during coordination or site execution).
• Compliance of deliverables with project standards, fire codes, and client requirements.
2. Coordination & Integration
• Coordination efficiency with HVAC, plumbing, and electrical disciplines (measured through clash resolution and minimal conflict cycles).
• Effective communication with design and site teams.
3. Documentation & Compliance
• Clear, organised, and traceable drawing documentation (version control, revision history).
• BOQ and material take-off accuracy, assisting estimation and procurement.
4. Digital & Process Adherence
• Compliance with CE Comfort Engineers’ internal digital project control processes and reporting.
5. Problem-Solving & Support
• Responsiveness to technical queries, design changes, and on-site clarifications.
Required Skills & Qualifications
•Diploma or Degree in Mechanical / Civil.
• Minimum 4–5 years of experience in fire-fighting drafting for MEP / construction projects.
• AutoCAD proficiency (mandatory).
• Revit MEP skills preferred.
• Understanding of fire-fighting systems, including hydrant, sprinkler, and pump room layouts.
• Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and practices in fire protection design (NBC, NFPA preferred).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
• Comfortable with pan-India deployment and travel based on project requirements.
