Job Title: Sales Executive – Retail

Location: Ahmedabad
Industry: Construction Chemicals (Tile Adhesives, Waterproofing, Grouts, Repair Mortars, Epoxy, Admixtures)

Reporting to – Area Sales Manager

Job Purpose

To drive retail sales growth of construction chemicals by expanding dealer network, increasing product visibility, generating demand from contractors/masons, and ensuring effective secondary sales in assigned territories.

Key Responsibilities

Retail Sales & Market Development

  • Achieve monthly and annual sales targets for assigned territory
  • Appoint and develop new retailers and sub-dealers
  • Increase secondary sales through effective retailer engagement
  • Ensure healthy stock rotation and availability at retail counters

Dealer & Distributor Management

  • Manage and strengthen relationships with distributors and key retailers
  • Ensure timely order collection, follow-ups, and payment coordination
  • Monitor distributor stock levels and execute stock planning
  • Resolve retailer and distributor issues promptly

Influencer Engagement

  • Develop strong relationships with masons, contractors, and applicators
  • Conduct product demonstrations, site trials, and mason meets
  • Support retailers with site leads and conversions

Site Visits & Technical Support

  • Visit active construction sites to generate demand
  • Coordinate with technical team for product application support
  • Handle basic product queries related to application and performance

Brand Visibility & Promotions

  • Ensure proper brand visibility through shop boards, posters, and displays
  • Execute promotional schemes, sampling, and local activations
  • Track competitor activities, pricing, and schemes in the market

Reporting & Compliance

  • Daily market visit reports and weekly sales updates
  • Maintain customer database and sales records
  • Adhere to company policies and reporting formats

 

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong local market knowledge of Ahmedabad retail construction market
  • Good communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build rapport with retailers and influencers
  • Target-driven with strong follow-up discipline
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the territory

 

Qualification & Experience

  • Graduate / Diploma (preferred)
  • 2–5 years of experience in retail sales of construction chemicals / paints / building materials
  • Experience in tile adhesive, waterproofing, or similar products preferred
