Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

1. Plant Operation & Performance

• Supervise daily operation of STP and ETP units to ensure efficient treatment results.

• Monitor process parameters (flow, turbidity, BOD/COD, sludge levels).

• Optimize treatment processes to achieve regulatory compliance.

2. Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical, electrical and process equipment.

• Diagnose plant malfunctions and coordinate repairs.

• Ensure smooth functioning of pumps, blowers, aerators, clarifiers, filters, etc.

3. Compliance & Safety

• Ensure plant complies with environmental regulations (e.g., CPCB/GPCB standards).

• Maintain safety standards and enforce PPE usage.

• Prepare reports and documentation for audits and inspections.

4. Technical & Process Engineering

• Support process design improvements and plant upgrades.

• Conduct root cause analysis for performance issues.

• Participate in commissioning and start-up of new systems.

5. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate logs of plant operations.

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports.

• Track reagent and chemical usage (e.g., dosing in ETP).

6. Coordination & Communication

• Work with contractors, vendors, consultants, and project managers.

• Coordinate with lab technicians for testing and QA/QC activities.

• Train operators and technicians on best practices.

🎯 Qualifications & Skills

Educational

• B.Tech / B.E. in Environmental / Chemical / Civil / Mechanical Engineering

• Diploma or certification in wastewater treatment is a plus.

Professional Experience

• Preferably 3–7+ years of experience in STP/ETP operations and maintenance or related engineering roles.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes (biological/chemical/physical).

• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, process drawings.

• Familiar with safety and environmental compliance standards.
