Job Description:
A Technical Facility Manager oversees the operation, maintenance, and safety of building infrastructure, including MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing), HVAC, and security systems. They ensure high-level technical functionality, optimize energy consumption, manage vendor contracts, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. This role typically involves managing technical staff and driving cost-effective facility operations. 
Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Operations: Manage and maintain building systems, including HVAC, boilers, generators, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Schedule, inspect, and perform repairs on equipment to prevent downtime.
  • Vendor Management: Supervise third-party contractors for specialized services (lifts, security, cleaning).
  • Budgeting & Cost Optimization: Develop and manage budgets for facility maintenance, repairs, and utilities.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and environmental health and safety laws.
  • Project Management: Oversee infrastructure projects, renovations, and office space reconfigurations.
  • System Reliability: Monitor IT/network infrastructure and ensure uninterruptible power supply. 
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical) or Facility Management.
  • Experience: Proven experience in technical maintenance and building operations, often with 3–5+ years in a supervisory role.
  • Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of building systems (HVAC, Electrical), AutoCAD, and Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, vendor negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
