Job Description –Senior Production Accounts Executive

Industry: Fashion Jewellery / Handcrafted Jewellery / Retail Chain

1. Role Overview

• Manage and control production-related accounting for the jewellery manufacturing and job-work operations.
• Handle karigar (job worker) accounting, purchase accounting, and inventory management.
• Ensure accurate tracking of material movement, production costs, and stock valuation in coordination with production and procurement teams.

2. Key Responsibilities
3. Production Accounting

• Maintain production accounting records including:
• Raw material issued to production
• Work-in-Progress (WIP)
• Finished goods received from production
• Track production quantities, wastage, rejections, and yield.
• Ensure proper booking of production entries in the accounting system.

1. Karigar / Job Work Accounting

• Maintain detailed karigar-wise records including:
• Material issued
• Labour charges / making charges
• Job-work returns and balances
• Reconcile karigar statements on a periodic basis.
• Ensure timely and accurate settlement of karigar bills.

1. Purchase Accounting

• Record purchase invoices for raw materials, components, consumables, and job-work charges.
• Match purchase invoices with purchase orders and goods receipt notes (GRN).
• Coordinate with procurement for discrepancies in quantity, rate, or quality.

1. Inventory Management & Control

• Maintain accurate inventory records for:
• Raw materials
• Semi-finished goods (WIP)
• Finished goods
• Support physical stock verification and cycle counts.
• Identify stock variances and ensure timely reconciliation.
• Assist in inventory valuation and ageing analysis.

1. Costing & Production Analysis

• Assist in product costing including material cost, labour cost, and overhead allocation.
• Monitor production costs and highlight variances.
• Support margin analysis for jewellery designs and collections.

1. GST & Compliance Support

• Support GST compliance related to:
• Purchases
• Job-work transactions
• Stock transfers (if applicable)
• Ensure proper documentation for job-work challans and returns.
• Assist during audits with production and inventory data.

1. ERP / Accounting System Handling

• Work on Tally / ERP systems for production and inventory accounting.
• Ensure correct master creation for karigars, items, and stock groups.
• Support system-driven tracking of material flow and production stages.

1. Coordination & Reporting

• Coordinate with production, design, and procurement teams for smooth operations.
• Prepare MIS reports related to:
• Production status
• Karigar outstanding
• Inventory movement
• Support management reviews and operational decision-making.

3. Qualifications & Experience

Educational Qualification

• B.Com / M.Com / CA-Inter (preferred).

Experience

• 5–8 years of experience in production accounting.
• Mandatory exposure to fashion jewellery / handcrafted jewellery / retail chain brands or similar industries.
• Hands-on experience in karigar/job-work accounting is essential.

4. Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of production and job-work accounting.
• Practical knowledge of jewellery manufacturing workflows.
• Experience in inventory management and stock reconciliation.
• Hands-on experience with Tally / ERP systems.
• High attention to detail and strong reconciliation skills.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with production and factory teams.

5. Reporting Structure

• Reports to: Finance Manager / CFO
• Coordinates with: Production, Design, Procurement, and Inventory Teams
