Job Description:
Responsibilities
- Manage overall responsibilities related to self-performance, daily operations, task ownership, and discipline.
- Take end-to-end ownership of L3-level GCP cloud incidents, service requests, problems, and escalations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives as assigned by the Management Team.
- Act as the final escalation point for complex technical issues and provide permanent fixes.
- Perform detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and share structured reports with internal stakeholders and customers.
- Provide technical mentoring, coaching, and knowledge transfer to L1 and L2 engineers.
- Review and audit tickets, provide feedback, and ensure adherence to SLAs and quality standards.
- Create, maintain, and improve Knowledge Base (KB) articles, SOPs, and runbooks.
- Work closely with management to improve operational processes, governance, and service delivery models.
- Support new implementations, optimizations, and cloud migration projects.
- Participate in client meetings, architecture discussions, and technical reviews when required.
- Prepare and share daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports, ticket analysis, and service health summaries.
- Define and follow governance frameworks and operational best practices for managed cloud services
- Participates in solution reviews
- Supports reference architectures
- Reviews designs from security, scalability, and ops-readiness perspective
Required Skill Set
Education & Experience
- Graduate in any discipline.
- 10-12 years of overall IT experience with at least 6-8 years of hands-on experience in GCP Cloud Operations and managed services.
- Strong experience supporting 24/7 managed service environments.
- Excellent Communication skills
Certifications (Preferred)
- Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect.
- Google Cloud Certified Associate Cloud Engineer.
- Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Security Engineer.
- Certifications on Azure (AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-500) or AWS will be an added advantage.
Technical Skills
GCP Core Services
- Strong hands-on experience with GCP IaaS and PaaS services including:
- Compute Engine (VMs, Persistent Disks, Custom Images, Instance Groups for auto-scaling)
- VPC Networks, Subnets, Routes, Cloud NAT, Internet Access Configuration
- Firewall Rules, VPC Service Controls
- Cloud Load Balancing (HTTP(S), TCP/UDP, Internal/External)
- Identity and Access Management (IAM) (Users, Roles, Policies, Service Accounts, Cross-project access)
- Experience with Google Cloud Backup & DR, snapshots, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Knowledge of GCP Resource Hierarchy (Organizations, Folders, Projects), governance, and cost management using Billing and Budgets.
- Cloud DNS
- Cloud Storage (Buckets, lifecycle, IAM, encryption)
- Cloud SQL / AlloyDB (ops, backups, HA – even if not DBA-level)
- GKE (at least operations, troubleshooting)
- Pub/Sub (basic operational awareness)
Monitoring, Logging & Automation
- Expertise in Google Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Cloud Asset Inventory, and Cloud Advisor
- Experience in performance monitoring, alerting, and proactive issue identification.
- Hands-on experience with automation using:
- gCloud CLI
- Terraform
- Deployment Manager (legacy awareness)
- Scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python – basic to intermediate)
Security & Compliance
- Knowledge of GCP security best practices, shared responsibility model, and least privilege access.
- Experience with GCP security services such as Security Command Center, Google Cloud Armor
- Exposure to vulnerability management, EDR/SOC integrations, and security incident handling.
- IAM policy reviews & misconfiguration remediation
- Incident response support for cloud security events
- Security posture reviews using SCC findings
Operating Systems & Platforms
- Strong experience with Windows Server (2012, 2016, 2019+) and Linux (Amazon Linux, RHEL, Ubuntu).
- Hands-on experience with patch management, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and GPO in hybrid cloud environments.
Hybrid & On-Premise (Plus)
- Experience with on-premise infrastructure (VMware/Hyper-V, storage, backup).
- Knowledge of hybrid connectivity (Site-to-Site VPN, Client VPN, Partner Interconnect and Dedicated Interconnect – conceptual or hands-on).
- Understanding of migrations from on-premises, Azure, or AWS to GCP.
Tools & Operations
- Experience working with RMM and ITSM tools (ServiceNow, ManageEngine, ConnectWise, or similar).
- Strong troubleshooting skills across compute, storage, network, and application layers.

Note: - Exposure to Azure and AWS will be considered an added advantage. - On-premise infrastructure knowledge is a strong plus.
