Job Description:
A Production Manager in the corrugation industry oversees daily manufacturing operations (corrugator, flexo-folder-gluer, die-cutters) to optimize output, quality, and material usage. Key responsibilities include scheduling production, reducing waste, maintaining machinery, ensuring safety compliance, and managing labor to meet customer demands. 
 
1. Key Responsibilities
  • Production Planning: Develop and execute daily, weekly, and monthly schedules to meet customer delivery timelines.
  • Process Oversight: Manage the complete production cycle, including paper selectioncorrugationslottingprintingstitching, and finishing.
  • Cost & Waste Control: Implement measures for wastage reduction and cost control to maintain plant profitability.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor production quality to ensure adherence to customer specifications and ISO/TPM standards.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance of corrugation machines (e.g., 3-ply/5-ply automated lines) to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and train machine operators and shop-floor workers, ensuring a safe and disciplined work environment.
  • Inventory Management: Coordinate with purchase and stores departments to ensure availability of raw materials like paper, adhesives, and inks. 
 
2. Required Technical Skills
  • In-depth Machine Knowledge: Expertise in operating and troubleshooting corrugators, flexo printers, and die-cutters.
  • Paper Specifications: Strong understanding of paper grades, GSM, and Bursting Factor (BF) for quality box making.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with ERP systems for production tracking and MS Office for reporting.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of 5S, Lean, and Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement. 
 
3. Qualifications & Experience
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree or Diploma in MechanicalIndustrial, or Production Engineering is typically required.
  • Experience: Usually requires 5–15 years of experience specifically within the corrugation or paper packaging industry.
  • Certifications: Additional certifications in Quality Management or Occupational Health and Safety (IOSH) can be beneficial.
