Job Description:
A Production Head in heavy fabrication leads, plans, and oversees all manufacturing operations—including structural steel, welding, and assembly—to meet production targets, quality standards, and safety compliance. This senior role requires 15–20 years of experience, technical expertise in fabrication, and proficiency in resource optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Planning: Develop, implement, and monitor daily/monthly production schedules to meet customer deadlines.
- Operational Leadership: Supervise the entire production shop floor, including welding, cutting, and assembly departments, for maximum efficiency.
- Quality & Standards: Ensure compliance with ASME, ISO, or relevant technical standards,, and coordinate with QC for inspections.
- Resource Management: Optimize machinery utilization, labor allocation, and raw material usage to reduce costs.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce strict health, safety, and environmental protocols to maintain a zero-accident environment.
- Process Improvement: Implement lean manufacturing principles and identify, and act on bottlenecks to increase productivity.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: BE/B.Tech in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
- Experience: 15–20 years in heavy fabrication (steel structures, pressure vessels, heavy machinery).
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of welding technology (MIG, TIG, SAW), material handling, and technical drawings/blueprints.
- Leadership: Strong team management abilities to lead large teams.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot operational, maintenance, or quality issues.
