Job Description:

Position:        AGM - NPD

Location:        Zaroli Nearby Bhilad

Experience:   15 - 20 Years

Industries:     Automobile

Responsibilities:

  • Centralized NPD Governance

  • Act as single point of ownership for NPD across all plants.
  • Define and deploy standard NPD processes, APQP framework, and documentation common to all locations.
  • Approve and monitor NPD timelines, milestones, and launch readiness at each plant.
  • Ensure process discipline and consistency across plants. 
  • Multi-Plant Project Management
  • Allocate NPD projects to plants based on capacity, capability, technology, and customer requirement.
  • Track progress of all projects through centralized review meetings and dashboards.
  • Resolve inter-plant bottlenecks and resource conflicts.
  • Ensure SOP readiness simultaneously across concerned plants. 
  • Technical Standardization & Best Practices
  • Establish common plating and painting process standards, specifications, and control plans for all plants.
  • Drive technology transfer and replication of proven processes between plants.
  • Approve process changes, new chemistries, and new coating technologies before plant implementation.
  • Ensure uniform corrosion resistance, durability, appearance, and quality standards. 
  • Centralized Costing & Feasibility Control
  • Own central feasibility approval for all RFQs (Export & Domestic).
  • Standardize costing methodology, cycle time calculation, tooling norms, and scrap assumptions.
  • Validate plant-wise cost competitiveness and recommend right-plant sourcing.
  • Drive group-level cost reduction and VA/VE initiatives. 
  • Customer & Export Coordination (Central)
  • Act as central technical interface for key OEMs, Tier-1 and export customers.
  • Support customer technical reviews, audits, trials, and approvals across plants.
  • Align customer requirements uniformly and avoid deviation between locations.
  • Ensure compliance with export regulations, customer-specific standards, REACH / ROHS.
  • Quality & Compliance Oversight
  • Ensure all NPD activities comply with IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC,  FMEA.
  • Approve PPAP submissions and deviation requests for all plants.
  • Lead root cause analysis for NPD-related customer complaints.
  • Support internal, customer, and certification audits from a central standpoint. 
  • People & Capability Development
  • Build and lead a central NPD / Process Engineering team.
  • Define skill matrix, training plans, and competency development for plant NPD teams.
  • Mentor plant NPD leads and review performance.
  • Ensure knowledge retention and succession planning. 
  • Innovation & Future Readiness
  • Evaluate and introduce new coating technologies, automation, and sustainability initiatives at group level.
  • Benchmark global automotive plating & painting practices.
  • Drive digitalization of NPD tracking, documentation, and data analytics.
  • Lead long-term technology roadmap for plating and painting.
