Technician (Electrical) based at Anantpur

Job Description:

JOB PURPOSE

The Electrical Technician – Operations & Maintenance will be responsible for
round-the-clock operation, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of
electrical systems at the plant. The role supports continuous 24×7 operations
by ensuring high equipment availability, safe working conditions, and timely
response to electrical breakdowns across all shifts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate and monitor electrical systems and equipment during assigned
shifts to ensure uninterrupted plant operations.
• Carry out preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of electrical
panels, switchgear, motors, transformers, lighting systems, UPS, and associated
equipment.
• Respond promptly to electrical faults and emergency situations during shifts
to minimize downtime and operational risk.
• Execute shift handover and takeover activities, including review of logbooks,
pending jobs, and system status.
• Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE)
regulations, electrical safety standards, and shift operating procedures.
• Perform isolation, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and permit-to-work activities in
accordance with site requirements.
• Monitor critical electrical parameters and report abnormalities to the Shift
Supervisor or Engineer.
• Maintain accurate shift logs, breakdown reports, maintenance records, and
checklists.
• Coordinate with mechanical, instrumentation, and operations teams during
shift operations and maintenance activities.
• Support planned shutdowns, statutory inspections, testing, and
commissioning activities as required.

• Maintain proper housekeeping in electrical rooms, substations, and
work areas across all shifts.

Desired Profile / Criteria / Skills :

DESIRED QUALIFICATION
• Diploma / ITI in Electrical Engineering or a related technical
qualification.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical operations and
maintenance within 24×7 industrial, plant, or utility environments.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of electrical systems, shift operations,
and breakdown maintenance.
• Familiarity with single-line diagrams (SLDs), electrical drawings, and
O&M manuals.
• Sound understanding of electrical safety practices, HSE compliance,
and emergency response procedures.
• Willingness to work in rotational shifts, night shifts, and during
emergency call-outs.
• Ability to work independently during shifts with minimal supervision.
• Good communication skills for effective shift handover and
coordination.
