Job Description:

JOB PURPOSE
The O&M Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and coordinating
round-the-clock operations and maintenance activities for both electrical and
mechanical systems at the plant. The role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient
functioning of plant assets by leading shift-based technician teams, enforcing
maintenance standards, and supporting continuous 24×7 operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise and coordinate electrical and mechanical technicians during
assigned shifts to ensure uninterrupted plant operations.
• Plan, allocate, and monitor daily shift activities for preventive, corrective, and
breakdown maintenance.
• Ensure timely response to electrical and mechanical faults, breakdowns, and
emergency situations to minimize downtime.
• Oversee shift handover and takeover processes, ensuring accurate
communication of equipment status, pending jobs, and operational issues.
• Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE)
regulations, permit-to-work systems, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Monitor plant equipment performance and key operational parameters;
escalate abnormalities to the Engineer or Plant Head as required.
• Verify quality of maintenance work performed by technicians and ensure
adherence to O&M procedures and OEM recommendations.
• Maintain and review shift logs, maintenance records, breakdown reports, and
checklists.
• Coordinate with operations, engineering, and external vendors for
maintenance activities, shutdowns, and repairs.
• Support planned shutdowns, overhauls, testing, commissioning, and
statutory inspections.

• Ensure availability and proper utilization of tools, spares, and
consumables during shifts.
• Promote good housekeeping practices and a strong safety culture
across the plant.

 

Desired Profile / Criteria / Skills :

DESIRED QUALIFICATION
• Diploma / Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or
equivalent technical qualification).
• Minimum 4 years of experience in plant operations and
maintenance, with exposure to supervising electrical and mechanical
teams.
• Strong working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems in
24×7 industrial or plant environments.
• Proven experience in shift supervision, maintenance planning, and
breakdown management.
• Sound understanding of HSE requirements, permit-to-work systems,
and emergency response procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, and O&M
manuals.
• Willingness to work in rotational shifts, night shifts, and emergency
situations.
• Good leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
