Process design engineer
Job Description:
📌 Key Responsibilities
Process Engineering & Design
-
Develop water and wastewater treatment process designs using engineering principles (e.g., biological, chemical, physical treatment methods).

Prepare Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), mass/energy balances, and equipment sizing.

Select appropriate treatment technologies (e.g., STP/ETP/WTP, MBR, MBBR, RO, UF, ZLD, filters, ion exchange).

Perform process calculations (hydraulics, influent/effluent load, chemical dosing needs).
Documentation & Reports

Prepare technical design reports, datasheets, process descriptions, and specification documents.

Ensure design documentation meets regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
Project & Team Collaboration

Work with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation engineers.

Support tender/proposal preparation, client technical reviews, and design handover to execution teams.
Execution Support

Participate in design reviews and hazard studies (e.g., HAZOP).

Provide engineering support during construction, commissioning, and start-up as needed.

Troubleshoot process issues and recommend optimization strategies.

Technical Skills

Strong understanding of water/wastewater treatment principles and technologies.

Proficiency with process design tools and documentation (PFD, P&ID, mass balance).
