Job Description:
A Utility Maintenance Engineer manages, maintains, and repairs critical plant infrastructure—including HVAC, electrical, compressed air, water treatment (WTP/ETP), and plumbing systems. They ensure operational efficiency and safety through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and compliance with regulations. Key responsibilities include reducing downtime, managing maintenance logs, and optimizing system performance. 
Key Responsibilities
  • Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and emergency repairs on utility equipment to ensure continuous, reliable operation.
  • System Operation: Manage and maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler, compressor, and water treatment (WTP/ETP) systems.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve malfunctions, utilizing root cause analysis to reduce future failures.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all maintenance complies with safety standards (e.g., OSHA, GIDC) and environmental regulations.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of utility consumption, maintenance activities, and machinery history in logbooks.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with external contractors and internal departments to minimize production disruptions. 
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (sometimes a Diploma with relevant experience).
  • Experience: 3–5 years in utility maintenance, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in HVAC, electrical systems, PLCs, VFDs, and maintenance management software.
