Job Title: SCM Executive

Job Summary
The SCM Executive is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing supply chain
activities including procurement, vendor management, inventory control, logistics coordination,
and material planning to ensure uninterrupted production of wind tower components (tower
sections, flanges, doors, internals, etc.).
The role focuses on cost optimization, timely material availability, and efficient coordination
between production, quality, stores, and logistics teams.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
1. Procurement & Vendor Management
Source and procure raw materials such as:
Steel plates (heavy thickness)
Flanges
Fasteners
Welding consumables
Paints & coatings
Float RFQs, compare quotations, and negotiate pricing.
Issue Purchase Orders (POs) in ERP.
Develop and evaluate new vendors.
Maintain vendor performance metrics (OTIF, quality compliance, cost).
2. Material Planning & Coordination
Prepare Material Requirement Planning (MRP) based on production schedules.
Ensure availability of critical materials to avoid production delays.
Coordinate with design and production teams for BOM verification.
Monitor material shortages and expedite deliveries.
3. Inventory Management
Monitor stock levels of raw materials and consumables.
Control slow-moving and non-moving inventory.
Conduct periodic physical stock verification.
Optimize inventory carrying cost.
4. Logistics & Dispatch Coordination
Coordinate inbound logistics for heavy steel materials.
Arrange transportation for wind tower sections to project sites.
Manage documentation related to dispatch and logistics.
Ensure compliance with transport and statutory requirements.
5. Documentation & Compliance
Maintain purchase records, GRNs, and invoice tracking.
Ensure statutory compliance (GST, E-way bills, etc.).
Support internal and external audits.
6. Cost Control & Reporting
Track material cost trends (especially steel market fluctuations).
Prepare monthly procurement and inventory reports.
Identify cost-saving opportunities.
🛠Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of supply chain processes in heavy engineering/manufacturing.
- Understanding of structural steel materials.
- ERP proficiency (SAP / Oracle / MS Dynamics preferred).
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Good communication & coordination skills.
- Knowledge of GST and logistics documentation.
🎓 Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in: Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering
OR MBA in Supply Chain / Operations
2–5 years of experience in manufacturing (preferably wind, heavy fabrication, or steel industry).
