Mechanical Design Engineer (Autocad )

Job Description:

Job Responsibilities – Mechanical AutoCAD Design Engineer (Transformer Manufacturing)

1. Prepare detailed mechanical design drawings of power and distribution transformers using AutoCAD as per IS/IEC standards and company specifications.

2. Design and draft transformer components such as tanks, radiators, conservators, bushings arrangements, core clamping structures, cable boxes, marshalling boxes, and structural supports.

3. Develop GA (General Arrangement) drawings, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and BOM (Bill of Materials) in coordination with electrical design and production teams.

4. Ensure compliance with relevant Indian and international standards including IS, IEC, and customer technical specifications.

5. Coordinate with production, quality, and purchase departments to resolve design-related manufacturing issues.

6. Perform material estimation, weight calculations, and sheet metal development for transformer tank fabrication.

7. Review and modify existing drawings based on site feedback, testing results, and customer comments.

8. Support tendering and costing teams by providing technical drawings and input data for new enquiries.

9. Maintain proper documentation, drawing revisions, and engineering records as per ISO standards.

10. Assist in design optimization for cost reduction, ease of manufacturing, and improved structural integrity.

11. Participate in technical discussions with vendors and customers when required.

12. Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and company engineering practices during design development.
