Job Description:

Head – Application Development

The Head – Application Development will lead customer-centric application development initiatives for ABS, SAN portfolio.

The primary mandate of the role is to:

• Understand customer processing and end-use requirements
• Recommend and customize suitable grades
• Increase application penetration at existing customers
• Drive new application development and commercialization

Key Responsibilities

Customer Requirement Understanding

• Engage directly with customers (OEMs, processors, Tier-1 suppliers)
• Understand end-use performance expectations (mechanical, thermal, aesthetic, regulatory)
• Study customer processing parameters (injection molding, extrusion, etc.)
• Identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities

Grade Recommendation & Customization

• Suggest suitable ABS / SAN grades based on application requirements
• Recommend formulation modifications where required
• Support trials at customer site
• Work with manufacturing for customized solutions if necessary

Application Expansion at Existing Customers

• Identify opportunities to increase share of wallet
• Promote use of higher-performance grades
• Replace competing materials through technical differentiation
• Develop new applications using existing product portfolio

Technical Support & Commercial Alignment

• Support Sales team in technical discussions
• Provide technical justification for premium pricing
• Drive faster conversion of trials into commercial orders

Product Feedback & Continuous Improvement

• Gather market feedback and relay to R&D
• Identify recurring customer issues
• Improve product consistency and processing performance
• Benchmark competitor materials used by customers

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Align closely with:
• Manufacturing for feasibility
• Quality for performance validation
• Marketing for positioning
